Looped Channels

Create your own simulated broadcast. The Studio:1 downloadable manager easily allows video clips to be connected into a looped channel, where the last clip in the sequence is automatically “looped” back to the first one. The user will have the same experience as with a linear channel at a fraction of the price of encoding a live TV signal. This functionality also enables commercials between clips.

Key features

Sometimes what is playing on the big screen is not what is most relevant or appropriate for the small screen. With looped channels, you can capture the essence of mobility by providing the end subscriber with a familiar experience that has been developed with their context in mind.
Digital rights issues may be a problem for serving linear channels. Why not make mobile documentaries with archive material to which you own the rights? In addition to the subscription fees you can monetize that channel through relevant mobile advertisement.
Since looped channels do not require live signal capture or encoding, they are a cost-effective way of deploying video services for mobile phones.

Customer Case: Discovery Channel

Discovery Channel is available through several of the mobile TV services managed by Rubberduck. Since not all material in the live version has been cleared for mobile, Discovery has collected its most popular shows and made the material available in a "loop" for mobile consumption.
